the cranberry stem

There is one decided benefit to “watching” ebay listings of the rarer, more frivolous, more expensive pieces of Wexford. I mean besides daydreaming. And that, my friends, is the random special seller offers “because you showed interest”…

There are were exactly four listings for Cranberry flashed Wexford pieces, and I suspect one of them is a knock off. From what I’ve found, Cranberry was always applied as a band of color, similar to the silverplate and 24k gold items, and unlike the other flash colors.

Cranberry is not to be confused with Ruby (seen on the bud vase and oil lamp above). Nor is Ruby to be confused with Royal Ruby, a significantly older and more expensive AH line.

These are the medium size wine/juice goblet. The measurements and details can be found here.

This set is in remarkable condition, considering that the metallic bands are often worn thin or scraped bare.

For the most part, these items sit until the listing expires, and then get relisted. I’m hopeful they may eventually get reduced and land a bit closer to manageable. They won’t ever be justifiable, since the flash pieces are taking me out of my “affordable and plentiful” zone about my overall draw to Wexford.

They sure are pretty, though.
