the hexes be hexing

Over in the FB Wexford group, somebody asked about the single hexagonal plate in the Wexford pattern.

I first posted about it a while back, pondering why it would be the only one with that shape.

But as it turns out, there are many hexagons to be found. They just aren’t plates. The ratios between the pieces yield some appealing results in combination.

the hex plate paired with a candle bowl, which is a lookalike
by Colony Candle Co. it was sold
by cases with poured candles
to the service industry.

the hex plate with the captain’s decanter makes a great pairing.
(I didn’t think to use the wine decanter that also has a hex cross-section.)

the hex plate paired with the ice bucket, this seems a popular combination
since the raised plate can catch
any condensation.

here, the hex plate is paired
with a mix of bud vases that can double as candlesticks. the peg votives
are a go-with in the Cambridge pattern by HOMCO.

I had to cheat to fit a trio of the shorter bud vase/candlestick on the hex plate. felt pads lift them up so they sit higher against the angled outer edge.

paired with the taller nine inch bud vase as a trio is more successful
due to the smaller base.

and finally,
with just the taller bud vases.
I’ll try to revisit this later with some arrangements from the garden.
