Over this past weekend, I pulled found another ombre Wexford piece, this time in green.
This marks my third ombre color in the lidded candy dish: ruby, blue, and now green.
The ombre finish is something to witness first-hand: the color fades to clear as it moves up the dish, and as it moves to the center of the lid. The applied color has an incredible gold-shift iridescence, which is difficult to capture in a still image. And each piece is finished with thin, painted gold bands.
Similarly, the large footed fruit bowl, the scalloped five inch dip bowl, the stemmed sherbet dish, the large pitcher and beverage tumbler, and the wine goblet have been found in ombre colors.
The colors have a rang as well: this green, a pale sapphire blue, a more intense aqua blue, ruby red, and amber.
It is possible that the ruby is really red and pink. The pieces I have are clearly pink, but I’ve seen others that appear distinctly more red, although I’ve not seen them in person, so I can’t rule out lighting issues.
